HAYWARD, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/10/08 -- Com-Cycle, a wholly owned subsidiary of AERCRecycling Solutions, is pleased to announce that Elephant Pharm issponsoring Com-Cycle "Electronics Recycling Events" for Bay Area businessesand residents as part of their "Earth Day" support of the TeleosisInstitute's Green Pharmacy Program.Elephant Pharm's free drop-off locations will accept computers, monitors,televisions, and other miscellaneous electronics between the hours of 9 amand 3 pm Saturday, April 12th, at the Walnut Creek Elephant Pharm locatedat 1388 South California at Newell Avenue and the San Rafael ElephantPharm, 909 Grand Avenue at 3rd Street. Free drop-offs can also be madebetween the hours of 9 am and 3 pm, Sunday, April 13th, at the BerkeleyElephant Pharm located at 1607 Shattuck Avenue at Cedar Street and the LosAltos Elephant Pharm, 4470 El Camino Real near San Antonio Road.

By dropping off unused and/or obsolete computers, cell phones, televisionsand other electronic devices at one of the four Elephant Pharm locations,Bay Area businesses and residents will be helping to keep unwanted wasteout of landfills while raising money for the Teleosis Institute ofBerkeley, CA, a non-profit educational organization devoted to reducing theenvironmental impact of health care.
Teleosis' Green Pharmacy Program was launched in an effort to reducepharmaceutical pollution of San Francisco waterways and to increase publicawareness in regards to the environmental impact of discarded medications.Since June 2007, over 900 pounds of unused and expired medicines have beendiverted from San Francisco waterways. The program establishescommunity-based take-back sites where consumers can take unused medicationsand sponsors events advocating environmentally safe disposal of unwantedmedications.
Elephant Pharm and Teleosis are partners in safe medicine disposal. Unusedand/or expired medications can be dropped off at any Elephant Pharm duringregular pharmacy hours.
