BETHESDA, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/07/08 -- Linda Armstrong Kelly and Shelley Morrisonwill explore their stories of survival and tireless efforts to make thepublic, government and industry aware of the need to support furtherdevelopment and distribution of innovative and efficacious drugs to treatcancer on April 14 at the PDA 2008 Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs,Colorado.Linda Armstrong Kelly is the mother of seven-time Tour de France ChampionLance Armstrong, who credits her as the unsung hero who assisted him inreaching his cycling victories and his triumph over cancer. Her lifeexperiences as a teenage mother living in poverty and raising anunstoppable baby boy helped form the values and positive attitude that bothshe and Lance carried forward into adulthood. Her recent televisionappearances include "The Dr. Phil Show," CNN, ESPN and the "Oprah" show. In2005, she published "No Mountain High Enough - Raising Lance, Raising Me."
Shelley Morrison is a veteran of the big and small screens with more than40 years in show business. She has worked in film and television since the1960s. Her role as Rosario on "Will and Grace" has earned her Emmy and SAGAwards and numerous nominations, including three ALMA Nominations for BestSupporting Actress. Morrison recently led the "Sea of Pink" ceremony tokick off the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Los Angeles. She hassurvived two bouts with cancer and retains a spirit of peace and optimism.
These Opening Plenary Session presentations will set the stage fortwo-and-a-half days of conference sessions focused on Science DrivenManufacturing: The Application of Emerging Technologies and covering:
-- The patient point-of-view and how an organization may have contributed to their well-being and/or recovery-- Novel manufacturing technologies that enhance patient safety-- New contaminants implications, detection and exclusion
