MCLEAN, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/21/08 -- Base Technologies, Inc. of McLean, Virginiaannounced today, the award of the Deployed Tele-Radiology System (DTRS)in-Theater Operations and Sustainment contract by the Defense HealthInformation Management Systems (DHIMS) Program Office. Base Technologieshas teamed with Nexsys Electronics, Inc., dba Medweb to provide full time,In-Theater systems support services to enhance the quality and timelinessof support for users of their currently deployed PACS and Tele-RadiologySystem, MedWeb™. Medweb™ allows Radiologists to view electronically storedimages from any location, regardless of patient location.Medweb™ is deployed in the Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in Kuwait,Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as Lanstuhl, Germany, and other MTFs in theUnited States. Current support is provided remotely from the U.S. and thusis subject to communication disruptions, time-zone differences, and lack ofhands on contact with users and obsolescence of user equipment. The scopeof this award is to provide user support to in-theater (local) systemsadministrators, through training and assistance associated with replacementof new hardware, the latter of which is being provided under separatecontract activities.
