CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/24/08 -- The National Council of State Boards ofNursing, Inc. (NCSBN®) Board of Directors appointed Myra Broadway, JD,MS, RN, executive director, Maine State Board of Nursing, to fill thevacancy on the NCSBN Board left by the resignation of Gino Chisari, MSN,RN, Area IV director.The area director serves as a member of the NCSBN Board of Directors (BOD),convenes all area meetings of the member boards within the area director'sjurisdiction and serves as a resource to member boards regarding theactions of the BOD and NCSBN, among other duties. Area IV jurisdictionsinclude: Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland,Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, RhodeIsland, Vermont and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Broadway previously served on the NCSBN BOD as the Area IV director from2004-2007, and director-at-large from 2000-2002. Broadway holds a J.D. fromFranklin Pierce Law Center, an M.S.B.A. from Boston University,Metropolitan College, an M.S. from the University of Colorado and a B.S.from Hunter College in New York. Broadway served in the United States AirForce Nurse Corps on both active duty and in the Reserves, retiring as aColonel in 1998.
