LONG BEACH, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/08/08 -- The Transportation Security Administration(TSA) has named Nancy Baggott as the federal security director for LongBeach Airport, Long Beach, Calif.Baggott has worked in the TSA's Transportation Security Operations Centersince 2003, most recently serving as command duty officer responsible forthe operational coordination and crisis management response on a nationalscale.
"Nancy brings to Long Beach valued leadership experience, which is exactlywhat we are looking for in our federal security directors," said MoMcGowan, TSA's assistant administrator for Security Operations. "Coupledwith her operational experience, she is the right person to serve as LongBeach Airport's first on-scene security director."
Prior to coming to TSA, Baggott worked as a FEDEX senior manager for sortand ramp operations at Washington-Dulles International Airport where shewas responsible for the 24/7 operational environment that moved more than146 million pounds of freight and sorted more than 15 million packages eachyear.
Baggott joined the U.S. Army in 1973 and retired from the United StatesArmy Reserve in 2000 as a command sergeant major. She holds a Bachelor ofArts in business administration from Columbia College, Columbia, Mo.
