VAN NUYS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/09 -- Los Angeles Unified School District middleschool teachers (grades 6-8) in the San Fernando Valley are encouraged toapply for two mini-grants to use for employing aviation and communityservice in their curriculum.Sponsored by Van Nuys Airport (VNY), the Rotary Club of Van Nuys and TheValley Economic Alliance, the first-year program will provide one $500grant and one $300 grant, with the awardees announced in late March 2009.
Applicants must submit a concise proposal including a statement of program,goals, methodology, evaluation mechanism and budget.
Applications are due on or before 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009.Teachers can obtain the application forms from their principals. If needed,teachers can also call Van Nuys Airport at (818) 909-3529 for anapplication.
