For this report, Gartner weighed several criteria to arrive at itsassessment of "Ability to Execute": Product/Service, Overall Viability(Business Unit, Financial, Strategy, and Organization), MarketResponsiveness and Track Record and Customer Experience.

According to the report, "The EGRC platform market is new, but the vendorsin this market have had time to develop their products and strategies inother precursor markets. Because they have developed with a focus oncorporate governance and executive reporting requirements, vendors withexperience in the finance GRCM market have an advantage in the EGRCplatform market." Moreover, "customers will be looking for leaders toprovide additional functionality, such as integration with advancedbusiness intelligence and corporate performance management applications,more-flexible and ad hoc reporting, and more support for the internal auditorganization. They will also expect support across multiple geographies.The large vendors are best positioned for these requirements, yet smallervendors are in the Leaders quadrant because of continued viability,more-advanced functionality and market understanding."
