VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/18/08 -- Avigilon has added an automatic infrared (IR) filter technology to its line of performance leading high definition (HD) IP color day/night cameras to deliver superior low-light performance and sensitivity to infrared illumination. The new cameras incorporate IR filters that are automatically calibrated based on light conditions making the cameras ideal for day or night surveillance as well as infrared illumination. Delivering on its promise to develop cost-effective HD surveillance solutions, this new performance feature will be delivered at no additional cost, and has been added as a standard feature to the entire HD model line. The new models also deliver the ability to manually override the day/night operation, which allows a default to full time color operation.

"Responding to market demand for the addition of monochrome, low light sensitivity functionality to our performance leading HD cameras, Avigilon has begun delivering day/night performance, across our entire line of HD cameras. We have added this feature while holding true to our intent to enable the accelerated adoption of higher value megapixel IP cameras," said Dave Tynan, vice-president of global sales, at Avigilon.

About Avigilon's HD IP Cameras

Avigilon's four HD IP cameras are available in one megapixel (720p), two megapixels (1080p), three megapixels, and five megapixels and can automatically adjust iris and exposure to capture high quality detailed images making it possible to reduce the total number of cameras required. With built in support for High Definition Stream Management (HDSM), Avigilon's four new cameras are able to leverage Avigilon Control Center's Progressive Lossless Compression to deliver the lowest bandwidth and longest record times of any high definition surveillance cameras while preserving image quality. The new HD IP cameras also offer Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to reduce installation costs and Alarm Input and Outputs to easily integrate into current alarm systems for further performance and cost gains.
