The long-standing dilemma for mineral exploration and mining professionalshas been how to incorporate hard copy, large documents -- typically paperitems, such as old exploration/field maps, geologic & drill hole maps, andold production data -- into digital databases.

Scanned data can then easily be converted to digital files stored on CDs orDVDs. Or printed on a variety of media up to 42" wide. Carroll goes on tosay, "We can also provide raster-vector services, so line work can beconverted to a GIS/CAD system. In addition to large-format scanning services, GeoGRAFX GIS Services ispleased to announce that Lynette McKinley has joined the company to serveas Client Liaison Manager. "My job," says McKinley, "is to be the go-toperson for clients, tracking GIS projects and providing updates."
