TUCSON, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 08/18/08 -- Driven to provide the best for today's GISusers, GeoGRAFX GIS Services announces large-format scanning services, aClient Liaison Manager and a Support Desk.

The long-standing dilemma for mineral exploration and mining professionalshas been how to incorporate hard copy, large documents -- typically paperitems, such as old exploration/field maps, geologic & drill hole maps, andold production data -- into digital databases.

"We're excited to add large-format scanning services to our long list ofGIS services," says Barbara Carroll with GeoGRAFX GIS Services. "We workwith maps of all sizes on a variety of materials -- paper, mylar, even oldlinen and velum. From cross sections to poster-mounted geologic maps, ourlarge format scanner can scan images and documents up to 42" wide and up to1/2" thick. For fragile or delicate items, we use protective plasticsleeves to protect the original documents during scanning."

Scanned data can then easily be converted to digital files stored on CDs orDVDs. Or printed on a variety of media up to 42" wide. Carroll goes on tosay, "We can also provide raster-vector services, so line work can beconverted to a GIS/CAD system. We are driven to provide our clients withthe full spectrum of GIS outsourced solutions ranging from mapping, GIS anddata management."

In addition to large-format scanning services, GeoGRAFX GIS Services ispleased to announce that Lynette McKinley has joined the company to serveas Client Liaison Manager. "My job," says McKinley, "is to be the go-toperson for clients, tracking GIS projects and providing updates."
