During National Engineers Week, February 17 to 23, Con Edison salutes itsapproximately 1,000 engineers, comprising about 1 out of every 14 men andwomen in the company. This year's theme is: "Engineers Make A World ofDifference."

Con Edison engineers recently have been honored for "Project of the Year"by Automation and Engineering T&D magazine. Their design of Con Edison'snewest substation in the Bronx blended into the community so well that arearesidents wanted to rent apartments in the building.
Con Edison engineers also have been recognized by their peers withInstitute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers' (IEEE) awards. IEEE isthe largest engineering/technical society in the world with 370,000 membersin 160 countries.
In the last year, engineers of Con Edison also have been responsible forthe safe delivery of record amounts of electricity and natural gas.
