Retailers Join Degree Of Green(TM) Product Rating, Merchandising Program

MILWAUKEE, WI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/08/08 -- A merchandising and green product ratingprogram that positions retailers as knowledge leaders in healthy homebuilding and improvement products now has participating stores in Florida,Georgia, and Oregon.

The retailers, in St. Petersburg, Fla., Atlanta, Ga. and Corvallis, Ore.,are now participating in Degree Of Green(TM), a product rating andmerchandising system launched this year by Wisconsin green buildingproducts expert Andy Pace.

The new Degree Of Green(TM) retailers are:

--  HealthyHome (http://www.healthyhome.com/), at 2894 22nd Ave. North in    St. Petersburg--  Pure Life Healthy Homes (www.purelifehealthyhomes.com/home.php), at    2183 Briarcliff Rd. NE in Atlanta--  Your Green Home (www.yourgreenhome.com), at 160 NW Jackson Ave. in    Corvallis

Degree Of Green(TM) is the first national building products ratings programdesigned for retailers. The foundation of the Degree Of Green(TM) system isa library of data sheets that rate specific green building products basedon their green, sustainable and health attributes.

"The Degree Of Green(TM) system allows retailers to help homeowners andcontractors make educated and immediate decisions regarding the green andhealth qualities of products they purchase for home building or improvementprojects," said Pace, who has worked with green and healthy buildingproducts for the last 10 years. "Through merchandising materials andpromotional activities, the system also clearly identifies participatingretailers as green experts in their communities."

Along with a library of product data sheets, participating retailersreceive a full package of promotional materials.

"Degree Of Green(TM) gives us the advantage of having an explanation forwhy a product is green and why it fits into our product line," said TomChasm, president of HealthyHome in St. Petersburg. "Hopefully, it willguide the consumer to choose more wisely and continue the educationprocess," he added.

"On a daily basis we educate people about the importance of choosing thecorrect product for the job and why green products are good," Chasm added.

In western Oregon, Your Green Home owner David Graetz said the Degree OfGreen(TM) system will be especially important in substantiating the valueof green and healthy home improvement products for consumers who are new togreen.

"They want substance, especially when they dabble in green," Graetz said ofconsumers who are just starting to explore the world of green and healthyproducts. "Information from the Degree Of Green(TM) program will make itsafe for them," he added.

Retailers around the country have been looking for support in their effortsto explain the value of green and healthy home building products.
