In 2004, Snyder left behind almost two decades of private equityinvolvement and formed Stream Energy, risking his professional reputationto persuade the public that there was a better way to buy electricity. Hisdetermination to succeed transformed Stream Energy into one of thefastest-growing firms in U.S. history, poised during its fourth fiscal yearto break $1 billion in revenues.

Stream Energy began selling electricity during 2005 through a small army ofmore than 100,000+ Independent Associates. By using the direct salesapproach to customer recruitment, Snyder and the firm's other founders haverealized their vision of growth while giving people a means to generateincremental income, even during difficult economic times.
