SuperFlex is IDC's flagship family of advanced, open-standards based products for implementing complete end to end DVB-IP content delivery via satellite and/or terrestrial networks. The PROFline products feature advanced digital audio compression and related data services for professional broadcast applications.
The applications that IDC will be showcasing at NAB include the following:
- IPTV applications - Complete head-end solutions as well as a family of interoperable dual mode DVB-S and S2 receivers for the secure and efficient delivery of both SD and HDTV live and Video on Demand (VOD) content over satellite. The IPTV solutions also feature high throughput M:N redundancy for fail-safe operation of large numbers of channels over multiple transponders with MPEG2 and MPEG4 AVC encoding, a choice of industry standard decryption/CAS options, transport stream transcoding to IP and built-in IP multicasting for ease of integration with Telco, CATV and other broadband IPTV distribution networks
- Digital Cinema applications - Complete end-to-end solutions for the delivery of both file encoded (i.e. JPEG2000 DCP) movies as well as live events for digital cinema and e-cinema applications. Key features include ultra high speed dual-tuner receivers, multiple layers of encryption/CAS for extra security, built-in "on the fly" forward error correction using IDC's flagship Datacast XD software and DVB-S2 8PSK or 16APSK delivery.
- Digital Cinema for 3-D/2D and Live Events -- The newest addition to the Superflex product line, the Pro Cinema 3D Live Encoder and Decoder, with leading Sensio® 3-D technology onboard, will be a highlight of the IDC booth. The Pro Cinema Live line of products expands the range of offerings for digital projector equipped cinemas. The Superflex Pro Cinema 3D Live Encoder and Decoder support both 2D and 3D live and pre-recorded events, which allows movie houses and other venues increased new revenue opportunities via alternative content programming.
- Professional Radio Networks Applications- IDC's Superflex Pro Audio and PROFLine suite of products and applications together provide the most advanced offering of solutions available in the world for professional radio broadcast network applications. A highlight at the IDC booth will be IDC's newest addition to the SuperFlex line, the SFX EXP Pro Audio satellite receiver which features DVB-S or S2 delivery and 4-channels of audio (four stereo pair or up to 8 monos) resulting in IDC's lowest cost per channel receiver for larger networks that require the features needed for combined store and forward and live streaming broadcasts. The SFX Pro Audio EXP is at the heart of the new digital satellite transmission system announced by Westwood One. This system, called MAX, (Media Access Xchange) is a state of the art hybrid satellite/terrestrial delivery system that uses the latest in DVB-S2 modulation standard as well as MPEG-4 Advanced Audio Coding compression and IDC's Datacast XD content management software. The MAX solution is being integrated across Westwood One's nation wide network allowing them to take advantage of multiple file delivery options and gives stations a great deal of flexibility in how they receive and broadcast content.
