NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/17/08 -- Carole Sobin has been named Con Edison's(NYSE: ED) secretary and associate general counsel, effective April 1. Shehad been vice president of Purchasing for Con Edison since March 2002.Sobin joined Con Edison in 1988 as a senior attorney and had served asgeneral solicitor in the company's Law Department. Sobin had also servedas assistant to the Chairman.
Before joining the company, she was an attorney with the National LaborRelations Board in New York. Sobin is a cum laude graduate of New YorkUniversity Law School and has a bachelor's degree in political science, cumlaude, from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland.
Her community involvement has included a board membership with the UnionSquare Partnership and membership with the Young Audiences of New York, anorganization that advances arts education and programs in New York Citypublic schools.
A Manhattan resident, Sobin and her husband Jon Levison have two children.
