bioMETRX, Inc. to Launch eCommerce Site to Fulfill Online Orders for Finger Activated Consumer Lifestyle Products
JERICHO, N.Y., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- bioMETRX, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BMRX - News) announced today that it is launching its internet marketplace offering its smartTOUCH brand of finger activated consumer products including it's garage door opener, thermostat and portable files drive.
"The Company has received over 1000 online direct consumer orders for the smartTOUCH GDO, a wireless finger activated garage door switch that allows children as young as 5 to come and go without a key. The product was first featured on HGTV in January 2006, and has since caught the interest of the big box retailers," noted Lorraine Yarde, Chief Operating Officer for bioMETRX. The Company's product will also be featured on The Discovery Channel's reality show "It Takes a Thief" that is expected to air in January 2007. The Company expects to book its initial direct sales revenues this quarter.
"We have had so much positive consumer response for our product that we decided to accelerate our plans to open an online marketplace six months ahead of schedule," noted Ms. Yarde. This is in addition to the company's retail orders. bioMETRX is utilizing Google's infrastructure in developing a commercial site that seamlessly integrates with bioMETRX's customer relations infrastructure. Installation and instructional video is available online, as well as direct customer interaction with the Company's smartCARE personnel.
A recent independent research report on the Company stated, "The bioMETRX targeted market is very large. According to the 2000 US Census, there are 55.2 million single family homes on less than ten acres in the US. bioMETRX management estimates that close to 30 million households have garage door openers and approximately 10 million have electronic thermostats. With an achieved sales price of approximately $100 for the smartTOUCH(TM) Garage Door Opener, the market for the Company's smartTOUCH(TM) Garage Door Opener could be as large as $3 billion in the United States. The market for the Company's smartSTAT(TM) thermostat control device with an achieved price of $160 could be a large as $1.6 billion.
