Musicrypt Signs Deal with Major US Independent Music Network
Broadjam.com to Use Musicrypt's DMDS to Bridge the Gap between Independent Musicians and Radio
TORONTO, May 16 /CNW/ - Musicrypt Inc. (TSX-V: MCT, OTC:MCYPF), the industry's leading and most secure digital music distribution company, today announced a deal with Broadjam.com, one of the world's largest communities of independent music artists and labels. Broadjam.com will offer its members Musicrypt's patented Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS), to deliver their music, and promotional materials directly to radio stations across North America. The deal will provide independent musicians the opportunity to reach radio stations in the same manner as major label artists.
Using DMDS, Broadjam.com members will be able to send their broadcast quality music, bios, pictures and other promotional materials directly to the desktops of radio professionals and additionally, track when their material was delivered and whether it was viewed, streamed and/or downloaded. The service provides a far more effective, secure and cost-effective means of distributing music and related promotional material than traditional mailing and is flexible enough to handle last minute changes. Most important to the independent musician, DMDS provides security and accountability incorporating encryption, biometrics, and watermarking, ensuring that only the intended recipient can access their work. The addition of DMDS to Broadjam's existing suite of tools, promises to place control back into the hands of the independent artists.
"Broadjam is thrilled to offer Musicrypt's DMDS service to our rapidly growing membership of independent artists from around the globe," said Roy Elkins, founder and CEO of Broadjam.com. "DMDS has set a new standard for secure media distribution to radio professionals, and Broadjam is delighted to partner with an innovator like Musicrypt to open such channels to indie musicians."
Currently the world's fastest growing community for independent artists, Broadjam boasts a database of more than 200,000 songs from artists representing all 50 US states and 110 different countries. Musicrypt's DMDS has delivered over 4,000 songs from over 40 record labels to destinations which include radio stations representing over 35 broadcast chains in the US, making it the perfect resource for Broadjam's 50,000 members.
"This is a significant business opportunity for Musicrypt in the US and we expect others to follow. The independent sector has never been stronger and is expected to continue to grow and expand. Broadjam is leading the way by offering DMDS to their thousands of artists," said Chris Montgomery, EVP of Musicrypt. "The idea of an indie artist or band having the ability to deliver its music to radio in the same manner and on a level playing field as the majors is extremely significant."
Broadjam.com has been integral in accelerating the careers of its many independent artists like pop-singer, Jenna Drey, who was signed to Emanon Records distributed by Universal Music, following three months on Broadjam's top ten chart. With the addition of DMDS, Broadjam expects to significantly increase the exposure and profile of its artists to radio, record labels and the music industry.
"It is exciting to bring the two best companies in their respective industries together. The DMDS service will open doors to a broader audience for the hundreds of thousands of Indie artists in the thriving Broadjam community. As well, this transaction represents an important and substantial revenue stream for both companies," stated Garry Wallace, who was instrumental in aligning these two innovative companies."
