Secured Digital Awarded $1.65 Million Contract to Install New Generation RFID Inventory System
SADDLE BROOK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Secured Digital Applications, Inc. (OTCBB:SDGL - News), a leading provider of outsourced business consulting services, today announced that it has been engaged to supply a new-generation RFID Real Time Location System to a Malaysian food processing manufacturer.
The contract, valued at $1.65 million, is scheduled to be completed by September 2007. When completed, the system will use RFID ("radio frequency identification) technology to permit the manufacturer to track real time raw materials, finished goods, fixed and movable assets and processing equipment.
The system will utilize a new generation of EPC Gen2 RFID chip with a built-in antenna to transmit location and other information to a reader/writer. The chip is operable in different frequencies and can be used worldwide, the Company said.
"This application is an example of the ability of Secured Digital to integrate business processes with RFID technology," Lim added. "Our integrated system will allow the client to accurately measure daily inventories, and reduce flaws and inefficiencies currently encountered with a manual system that is not able to track lost and misplaced goods."
