Respected Mining Veteran, John W. Maddry, Joins Silver Dragon Mining De Mexico S. A. de C.V.
DURANGO, MEXICO--(MARKET WIRE)--May 17, 2006 -- Silver Dragon Resources Inc. (OTC BB:SDRG.OB - News) today announced that John W. Maddry has joined Silver Dragon's wholly owned Mexican subsidiary, Silver Dragon Mining De Mexico S.A. de C.V., as Senior Prospect Geologist and Drill Program Manager.
Prior to joining Silver Dragon, John W. Maddry was exploration manager for Piedmont Mining Company, during which time he operated the Haile gold mine in South Carolina, USA. In addition to the Haile gold mine and since 1991, Mr. Maddry has directed exploration and development of base and precious metals deposits elsewhere throughout the United States as well as in Mexico, Africa and the Middle East. He has been instrumental in the discovery, expansion and development of a number of gold, gold-silver, and industrial mineral deposits in the United States and Mexico. Mr. Maddry earned an M.S. degree from East Carolina University in 1979 and is a "qualified person" as defined under National Instrument 43-101 of the rules developed by the Canadian Securities Administrators. Mr. Maddry is a registered professional geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists and the 2002 recipient of the phosphate industries "Hero of Industry Award" presented by the Florida Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists.
