AAA Texas: Gas Prices Increase Slightly

HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/01/06 -- Texas gas prices in most areas increased byabout a penny over the past week, according to the AAA Texas Weekend GasWatch.

The current Texas statewide average price for self-serve regular gasolineis $2.124 a gallon, up by 1.6 cents in the last week.

"Just before Thanksgiving, wholesale gasoline prices significantly spikedwithout any apparent cause," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau."However, wholesale prices have eased since then without having much impacton motorists."

The national average for regular self-serve gasoline is $2.247 -- a weeklyincrease of 1.4 cents.
